I also endorse Emmanuel Macron for President of France and congratulate him, beforehand, for his big big victory this Sunday. Throughout my extensive international experience, I have personally witnessed how extremist ideologies have ruined the lives of billions around the world. Look at the plethora of African tyrannies to understand what Europe can become if its leaders and people embrace this very extremist path. Look at Russia, China, and much of the world. Extremism goes hand in hand with fear and a fearful people is not a free people.
For Europe's democracies and the tons of pseudo-democracies of the world, the most serious threat is the lack of effective check-and-balance mechanisms to tame and even neutralize extremist tendencies. Caught off guard by political extremism, I wonder how those countries would survive in the long or short term if they continue to jump onto the extremism bandwagon and cheap populism. En marche, citoyens!!! Félicitations anticipées à Emmanuel Macron pour la grande victoire de ce dimanche!!!
